What Brings Us Together, Today

posted 05/11/2006

Forgot to bang the bones:   Cloud Cult’s quick Northwestern swing started a couple days ago.  Apologies if you’re reading this in Fargo and Missoula.  But here’s the remainder of their schedule:

Cloud Cult Shows:

If you’re anywhere in the vicinity of a Cloud Cult gig, you owe it to yourself to go (though expect a more modest set-up than what's in the above promo photo, which was taken during a hometown performance).  If you need convincing, at the bottom of this entry there are links to all(?) the blog-blog-blog after their recent swing through NYC.  For these NW dates they’ve apparently got two painters in tow; Cult leader Craig Minowa sent out an e-mail suggesting there might be a sculptor joining them on that final night in Minneapolis (and also mentioned upcoming shows in July with Low, Go! Team, and The Flaming Lips).

The band’s also playing a live set at KEXP tomorrow, May 12th, at 5PM Pacific/8PM Eastern.

[UPDATE:  The show's not yet in the station's Performance Archive, but you can stream it by going here and setting it to 5/12, 5pm; Cloud Cult comes on after a couple songs from Outkast and The Rakes.  There are additional Cloud Cult KEXP performances here (9/15/05) and here (6/24/05)]

You should, by now, own the best album that came out last yearAnd here's their myspace.

KEXP, by the way, recently started its own blog.  As Yeti noted, it looks to be the hub of the musical blogoversarama.

Inspired, I thought I should mention how much I enjoy WFMU’s Beware of the Blog.
