Swished down to the Coney Island Mermaid Parade to enjoy the sk... creativity on display. Today, the city’s hosting both a Gay Pride Parade and the Reverend Billy Graham. Probably much the same shtick featured at both, only less body paint.

The beastie with all the eyes is The Black Beast of Aaarrrrgh from “Monty Python’s Swamalot” (Aaarrrgh, indeed). At the end, there’s parade king David Johansen (with queen Karmen Guy) giving the crowd some L-U-V. And the obligatory Cyclone shot. The rest either need no – or defy – explanation. Enjoy.
