It's Halloween! I'm going out as someone who makes fun of people who dress up as Amy Winehouse. What are you going out as?
Rhetorical. I don't care. The important thing is that, for one night only, unhip shit like surfa-gotha-rockabilly and b-movie dialogue turn cool. Or at least become prevalent. Okay, allowable. It's a holiday miracle, and I mean to honor it with a second annual low-watt low-bit Locobilly Geekout de Internationale.
Spain, Denmark, Italy, The Czech Republic and Secaucus are represented below; half the fun's trying to figure out what the guy from Smell of Kat is saying. No Misfits or Cramps or Men/Astro-Men. And I'd meant to include something from the Horrible Porn Stuntmen and Eyaculacíon Post Mortem. Maybe next year. We've got The Meteors, though, and the good Reverend stops by to celebrate the obvious. I'd never heard of Welshmen Demented Are Go, before, but they're awesome. Ditto the sometimes synthy Psycho Chargers, though the track of theirs I used is simply silly. Yay, silly.
Fun stuff. Zombies dance! Mars needs 'nads! Et cetera! The drums, they're talkin' to ya. Also: A Rocky Horror cover I found endearingly obnoxious (you might just find it obnoxious). Plus: A few atmospheric musings from The Mr. Vincent Price.
