Fuck Perfection

“There wasn’t no Godzilla factor” – David Tyree

It might have looked like Michael Strahan was singing along with the National Anthem.  But he was really mouthing, "...kill the quarterback kill the quarterback kill..."

How great, when The Inevitable Letdown never comes.  (Didn't that 12th-man penalty feel like it was going to be the dumbest, cheapest tide-turner ever?  Who challenges that sort of shit?)  That amazing defense, Eli's weird scramble, David Tyree's magic Velcro helmet.  More than anything, I just wanted to watch the Patriots lose.  I love to see Tom Brady get hit.  I'm a Rams fan and privately I'm enjoying this as revenge for 2002, when our high-powered offense got the turf yanked out from under it.  Defense wins football games.  And it's been a blast watching these Giants pummel away at people for the past couple months.  Hooray for them.

*

If those E*Trade ads with the vomiting infant investor don't scream "market correction," I don't know what could.

And I hate the phony Wow! of half-time shows, but this one might have been a little too low-key.  Tom Petty's enunciation is improving as he ages.  He's like the anti-Dylan or something.  And Mike Campbell, wash your hair.
