I really thought that if one of them would wind up crying, it would be Palin.
Never underestimate evil! She was very competent in a folksy, empty kind of way, and no doubt McCain'll get a solid bounce out of this. (Also, everyone looking to distrust the media again can cite her performance here vs. the edited Gibson or Couric interviews. Sabotage!) It's a shame there wasn't, as in the presidential debate, time in-between questions to inject air between rehearsed talking points. (And frenemy nose wrinkles.) And a Marge Gundersonism counter in the lower right-hand corner.
I thought Biden's "he's not a maverick where it matters" speech worked well, and Claymont, Delware represent. But Obama really needs to do what *gack* Palin did here and bring The Vision Thing. Shine, motherfucker, shine.
