That’s More Like It, New York

posted 05/16/2008

Was on my midday dash to the post office and passed a cordoned-off crime scene with clusters of cops and news vans and such.  I assumed they were filming another episode of Law & Order in my neighborhood (srsly, Chris Meloni should be chipping in on my gas & electric at this point), but then overheard that the woman who works at the corner dry cleaners had been, y'know, murdered.

Sympathies, condolences, etc..  But part of me instantly thought, "Yes!  This recession is working!"

Too soon?  Fuck you.  Go back to Jersey Connecticut.

Of course, in a couple months a film crew will be remaking the whole thing a tasteful three or four blocks away, and Anthony Anderson will be pseudodryly quipping shit about "too much starch" hahahahahaha.
